The Night before Christmas…. (Tanya’s version) For Parents!

Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house

There was absolute chaos, just pity the poor mouse.

The stockings were lost and could not be found

Mum swore as she searched around and around.

The children were fighting about not going to bed

One gave his sister a bump on the head,

Granddad was plastered, the baby was sick

The dog was giving the turkey a lick.

When out in the garden we heard a gruff shout

It was a male voice, to be sure, without doubt.

We all rushed to the window as if in a race

We ran over Grandma in all of the haste.

We could not see much, as the rain it fell loud

And the moon was well hidden behind a dark cloud

Then suddenly there in front of our eyes,

Sat a small fat man in a red cloak disguise.

With a beer in his hand and dribble down his jaws

We knew in a jiffy, it must be Santa Claus.

He sat in a puddle all sad and forlorn

His beard had come off and lay on the lawn

He started to say something as he clutched at the fence

But his words slurred together and did not make sense.

Beside him on the grass lay a big sort of sack

It did not look the type to go on Santa’s back.

We watched as he grabbed it but he was too slow

He spewed all his guts into the roses below.

Dad gripped the curtains, this was too much to bear

When he thought of his roses, the work and the care.

He shouted out “Hey you, Can’t you behave?”

Then Santa looked up and gave him a  wave.

He lurched slightly forward, brought himself upright

And began a rendition of  Silent Night.

It was a new version that we had not heard.

But Santa, he seemed to know every rude word.

Mum clapped her hands over her ears with dismay

Grandma was giggling and chuckling away.

Then Santa stopped to have a swig of his beer

And started to call out the names of all his reindeer.

From out of the darkness, some footsteps were heard

Then silently and with hardly  a word

Two policemen arrived and without a sound

They soon had Santa pinned to the ground.

So off he was carted straight to the cells

Now merrily singing Jingle Bells

And he gave a big burp as he stumbled out of sight

Merry Christmas to all and to all a goodnight!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Merry Christmas to all my beautiful children in TA7 and their families.

Thank you for all my wonderful gifts. I was very spoilt! I have been eating chocolates and red frogs for the last few days and very nice they have been. I know Christmas is a time of sharing so I guess I had better leave some for my family. OOOPs nice idea…but I seem to have just eaten the last one!!!!!!!!

Well guess this is it…… my last entry for this year..its been a fun year and I’ m very thankful for the beautiful class I had, children and parents! We were the best!!

Bloopo the Clown!

On Tuesday we had our end of year incursion. Bloopo the clown came for a visit! he was very funny! He performed a lot of magic tricks and rode a really small bicycle! He kept getting things wrong! At the end of the show he turned a plastuc chicken into a real one! we were amazed! Even Mrs Thieme was amazed! We were able to feed the chicken at the end of the show!

Lava Lamps!

Today we made lava lamps. they did not look exactly like this but they were pretty cool.

We mixed layers of oil, water and colouring in a bottle. We were under strict instructions not to drink it!!!!! Then we added a fizzy tablet…….we were also under strict instructions not to eat it, and watched all the bubbles fizz!We had to be really careful to make sure the lid on the bottle was very tight when we shook it!!!!!!!!!!

As we shook it we all sang along to the shake song. Mrs Thieme did not know it very well so we helped her along!It was a lot of fun !!!!!!

SWIMMING LESSONS!

We started swimming lessons yesterday! Some of us were excited, some of us felt very confident and some of us were down right terrified!!!!  We had a few worries which we talked about.

Would our swimming teacher be a meanie?

Would we be in the big pool?

What would happen if we drowned?

What if we forgot our undies?

What if the water got in our goggles?

What if our bathers came off in the pool?

As a class we discussed these really important issues and reassured ourselves that we would enjoy it.

We did!

This is what some of us thought after one lesson.!

Cam ” I learnt how to swim. I learnt forward stroke”

Craig ” I learnt how to swim. I didnt know how to. The hardest part was when I lie on my back and swing my arms.I learnt how to do the boat. learnt how to glide under water.”

Grace ” I liked kicking and the water was warm”

Jessica ” it was good

Tayla ” My tecaher’s name is Jennifer. She is mean because she is giving us hard stuff and we are only little kids’

Riley “It wasn’t very fun because you had to do freestyle and I already know how to do it coz I did it last year’

Daniel ‘ I thought it was pretty scary first.Then it was exciting beacuse e had to go in the water in 5 seconds. We learnt floating with just no hands and legs.”

Tobi ” it was pretty good. I was pretty nervous and I didn’t want to go in the little pool”

Wian “I didn’t like the deep pool. I had to stand on my toes’

Declan ” It was fun.The best part was getting in the pool”

Ethan ” It was sorta fun because I was in Jye’s group.We all had to go at the same time and when I saw Jye we did a thumbs up”

Adam ” It was really nice and I was in Daniel and Craig’s team. I was hoping I was with them”

Helay “It was fun because I liked jumping in the pool”

Georgia “I liked doing the little float thing”

Demi ” It was fun when we were doing ring a ring of rosy”

Bailey W  ”I liked the back float. I am really good at swimming now”

Bailey J ‘It was fun and I liked freestyle. it was hard to kick and two arms and blowing all at the same time”

Lois “I learnt backstroke. It was hard coz you kept sinking”

 Mitchell ” We had number 15 as our teacher. I learnt how to hold boards. We learnt how to put our head under watere and blow bubbles. We could breathe under water when we did that”

Elyssa ” it was fun. I learnt the front float.My teacher was nice and she was number 10.It was a bit cold” 

Jye ” It was fun. the pool was not deep. My eyes turned a little bit white.I learnt to breathe under water” 

Jordan ” It was fun and I was really excited because Georgia and Helay joined in. They showed us how to do under arm. really really fun!!!!

More funny words!

Celebrating little Georgia’s birthday , Riley said to her “you’re so old for such a little girl!”

 

Mitchell told the class “Ive got a girlfriend. She loves to grab my Tee shirt and drag me around the room. She is 3 years old!

The Andy Wright Incursion!

Today we were all excited about attending the Andy Wright show!

Andy Wright is a story teller who has been telling stories around the world over the last two decades. He is committed to helping children and adults discover their own stories and celebrate their own culture and the culture of others.

Andy uses his storytelling to promote literacy, reading, and the love of literature.

We laughed at the funny stories he told how he got us to be part of the stories through actions. Cameron, Riley and Declan were lucky enough to be chosen by Andy Wright and perform with him in front of everyone. Mrs Thieme was very glad he did not pick out any teachers this time!!

Not all of us enjoyed it.

Ethan said “It was sort of boring and my legs got sore”

Riley ” I liked the whole thing. When I got called up I felt nervous. I had to be the hippo and swing from side to side. My brother was near me and he said I was fat because I was the hippo”

Declan ” I liked it when I was called up. I had to do push ups and I was good. It was funny”

Craig “It was pretty good and the stories were really good. I like people telling stories”

BALLROOM DANCING !

It was raining so hard on Wednesday at lunchtime that we had to stay in the classroom. We had fun playing musical bops and dancing to the Macarena and Shrek!

Then a slow piece of music came on and Mrs Thieme was amazed at how some of us grabbed a partner and did some fantastic ball room dancing.!! It was so much fun. Mrs Thieme was laughing so much and taking photos at the same time. Of course not every girl wanted to dance with a boy, and not every boy was that keen. This is what we had to say about it.

Tayla ” When I was dancing with Daniel and Craig I felt happy coz they are my best friends”

Jessica ” It was really funny. I liked dancing with Ethan coz he was funny”

Riley ” I didn’t really like it. It was quite embarrassing”

Tobi ‘ I only liked dancing with Bailey J”

Bailey J “Yes hes got a crush on me and Adam does too”

Mitchell “I don’t really want to dance with a girl but if my girlfriend was here… watch out!”

Adam ” It was hilarious with Jordan coz Jordan was doing funny things!”

Daniel “I danced with Bailey J, Tayla and Elyssa. It was fun. Bailey J is a good dancer.”

Georgia ‘ I would be too embarrassed to dance. I don’t like boys’

Ethan “I liked dancing with Jessica. She’s a good dancer and I want to show you our moves.”

Craig “I liked dancing with Tayla because she goes gentle with me’

Tayla “I go gentle with him because he’s small”

Jye ” It was funny. I danced with Jessica and Jordan and Grace’

Bailey J “I actually danced with Daniel most of the time. and we nearly went around the whole room.He’s got really little hands and it was hard to hold them.”

Elyssa ” Declan was funny when I was dancing with him”

Wian ” I did not want to dance because I don’t like girls. I love my mum but not girls”

Mitchell ‘Mrs Thieme , you need to put Wian’s name on the sad side because that means he doesn’t like you”

Declan “I liked dancing with Elyssa”

Demi ” I don’t like dancing with a boy.I would dance with Georgia and Mrs Thieme”

Helay ” I don’t like a boy”

Grace ” I like boys and I like Jye even better”

Jordan ” It was fun. I liked dancing  with Jye and Mitchell. The music was really nice.”

Lois “ I didn’t like the dancing with the boys.”

The Giving Tree!

In class we read the beautiful book “The Giving Tree” by Shel Siverstein. The cover of the book is in colour but all the illustrations in the inside are  in black and white.

We came up with some reasons, why we thought the author did not colour the pictures.

Craig “I think he just didn’t feel like it. He just felt like doing the cover”

Bailey J “maybe he just wants us to imagine all the colours inside the book”

Riley ” He didn’t want to waste his time colouring in”

Cam “It was the olden days. he didn’t have any colours”

Tayla “we can use our memory to make up all the colours”

Jordan “the printer might not be working and he runned out of ink”

 

The best cook in my house…………

Today for daily writing we wrote all about the best cook in our house and our favourite meal!!!!!!

Jye ‘ My mum cooks pizza and I like it because I love it.My dad cooks it too but he flips it up in the air and it breaks”

Adam “The best meal mum cooks is bacon and sausage, fish and chips. She makes excellent cakes and pizza and roast chicken and chips and steak and chips”

Cam ” The best meal my mum cooks is bacon and egg,hash browns and a pork roast.

Bailey J ” the best meal my sister cooks is pizza and soft and hard tacos.She’s the second best cook in the house.I sometimes help Tazie cook dinner. It is fun”

Mitchell “My mum and dad cook my favourite lunch. It is noodles.I love them, my mum and dad.They are my favourite parents. I love you mum and dad.

Lois ” the best meals my mum and dad cooks. I like my dad’s pancakes and my mum makes the best roast ever. I love them. They are the best.”

Declan “The best meal my mum cooks is Yorkshire pudding beacuse they are squishy and pizza because it is yum!”

Wian “The best meal my mum cooks is eggs and toast and bacon. Mum cooks it!The egg is soft and the bacon is ahard. It is yum!”

Jessica “The best meal my mum cooks is chops because I get messy and my brother brings them in.I get so messy a lot.

Jordan “The ebst meal my mum cooks is spaghetti and noodles. It is kind of hot but I like baked beans.

Riley ” The best meal my mum cooks is bread, biscuits and home made pizza. My brother told my mum how to make the bread and biscuits.I like the pancakes and I even have honey on them.It is very yummy.They are very good cooks. They make cupcakes and she even puts soemthign on it.I think she is the best cook in the whole world!

Bailey W ” The best meal my mum cooks is pizza and fish and chips. My favourite cook is mum and dad. I help them and I help with the jobs. I love my mum and dad!”

Ethan ” the best meal my mum cooks is tacos and pizza.. It is very yummy. You should try the pizza.My brother does not eat the crust. Me and my mum and even my dad, we eat the crust.I like fish and chips because I love fish so much. I like the chips only if I pot chippy salt on.”

Elyssa ‘The best meal my mum cooks is Hello Kitty biscuits, pasta and tacos.My mum is the best cook, pancakes, chips and fish and Hello Kitty cake. It is so yummy!

Tobi The best emal my mum cooks is tacos. I put meat in and cheese and cucumber and eat it.It is very teaty. You should try it Mrs Thieme”

Grace “The ebest meal my mum cooks is cookies and she cooks muffins and gingerbread men and pancakes and cupcakes with white icing.”

Tayla “The best meal my mum cooks is home made chips because they are really nice.To make it she uses 1.potatoes 2 chips.”

 Craig “The best meal my mum cooks mis my mums home madefish and chips. It is nice and Mrs Thieme you would like it.

Helay ” The best meal my mum cooks is chips. I love eating chips. My best cooker is mum. I love eating my mum;s dinner.I sometimes help my mum”

Georgia “The best meal my mum cooks is bacon and eggs. Dad takes care of my baby brother.”

Daniel ” The best meal my mum cooks what I like is pies. and chips, I have sauce too. Pudding is ice cream with chocolate sprinkles.

Demi “the best meal my mum cooks is fish fingers because they are yummy.I love them, They are very nice.My dad lays on the couch and Mikayla and I sit waiting on the chair until she cooks it. The end!
